Faiba.Kombo@ke.boell.orgFaiba Kombo is the Programme Communication Coordinator at the Heinrich Böll Foundation’s Nairobi office, overseeing communication efforts for Kenya, Uganda, and Tanzania. Since assuming this role in May 2023, she has led the foundation’s initiatives to position it as a thought leader in the thematic areas. She initially joined the Foundation in March 2022 as a Programme Officer for communications.
As a communications and advocacy professional, Faiba has close to 10 years of experience in strategic communication, media relations, public engagement and digital communication. Her expertise spans the private and humanitarian sectors, where she has worked with both an international NGO and a communication agency. She specialises in initiatives amplifying awareness, fostering community engagement, influencing policy, advocating for human rights, and positioning brands and campaigns.
Before her current role, Faiba worked as a Consultant and Associate Consultant with TL Message and Media, a communications and consultancy agency in Nairobi. Providing strategic counsel to clients across various industries. Faiba has a strong track record of producing impactful multimedia content, managing internal and external communications, and delivering evidence-based advocacy through monitoring and evaluation.
Throughout her career, she has worked with various media professionals and influencers, and engaged community partners to create impactful narratives and policy discussions.
Faiba holds a Bachelor's degree in Communications and Media Studies with IT from Maseno University and a Diploma in Public Relations from the University of Nairobi. She is an active member of professional associations, including the Association of Media Women in Kenya (AMWIK), the Public Relations Society of Kenya (PRSK) and The Comms Avenue, Kenya Chapter. She is also part of the 2024 Meta Mentorship Program, an initiative by The Comms Avenue.
