As the current Regional Program Coordinator for Gender Democracy at the Heinrich Boell Foundation, Akinyi plays a big role in shaping the organization’s strategy in Kenya, Uganda, and Tanzania for the component. She aligns gender justice principles with local political dynamics, and facilitates the inclusion of gender in internal operations and partner programs while managing a substantial grant portfolio. Akinyi also bring extensive experience in resource mobilization, during my tenure as the Regional Resource Mobilization Officer at FAWE by creating and executing fundraising strategies aligned with the organization’s goals.

In addition to her expertise in grant making and program development, Akinyi have consistently focused on strategic collaboration and partner engagement. Whether managing multi-stakeholder partnerships for the Hanns Seidel Foundation’s Solid Waste Management project or leading creative initiatives at Creatives Garage, she has excelled in driving cross-functional teams towards shared goals, ensuring that outcomes are achieved efficiently and effectively. She skills in cross-cultural communication and interpersonal diplomacy have been critical in fostering inclusive dialogues and delivering impactful programs across different cultural contexts.
