The COVID-19 pandemic has heightened many of the challenges that mothers around the world face as the global health threat and resulting economic downturn have created a caregiving crisis that has disproportionately affected women and motherhood.  

This report highlights an urgent call for a policy environment that recognizes and values an efficient public transport system as an important economic development driver that respect the rights and needs of workers. 

Call for Participants: Challenging Patriarchy Virtual Book Club

Our new publication,"Challenging Patriarchy: The Role of Patriarchy in the Roll-back of Democracy" not only highlight regression in the various thematic spaces; reproductive health, religion, media, social and political movements as well as the state of constitutionalism, but also recommend interventions and concepts that can gear states towards an inclusive democracy.

Heinrich Boll Foundation believes in collective action to amplify the work of individual feminist and move beyond silos to build collective power. In this front, the foundation has on various occasions hosted gatherings of feminist to facilitate collective actions.

Inequality is the unfair situation in society whereby some people have more opportunities, money, and resources than other individuals in the same environment. Globally, the levels of inequality within and between countries have risen as much as the broadened gap between the haves and the have nots. Inequality mostly emerges from structural issues, centered on capitalism where the economy and the political system is controlled by a few individuals who are mostly men. 

Echo Network Africa in collaboration with Heinrich-Böll-Stiftung has  launched a report on the status of women political leadership in Kisii and Nyamira counties.  The report is a result of a rapid survey that sought to establish what has contributed to poor performance by women who seek electoral positions in Kisii and Nyamira counties.
